How to choose free press release websites
There are many websites willing to publish your press release. Some of them are good; others may not be worth your attention. If you have the time and energy, you can submit your article to all of them. If you don’t want to waste your time on some useless submissions, you have to consider which press release sites are worth submitting to. When choosing press release sites, you have to ask yourself several questions:

1. Is the press release (PR) site popular?
We definitely want to publish our articles on a popular website, because we want to gain more exposure for our businesses. A popular website means that there are more visitors to the site regularly. How do I know whether a PR site is popular or not? You can check the website’s Alexa traffic rank. Besides, you can also check the website’s Google page rank. Usually, the higher Alexa traffic rank and the higher Google page rank, the better the website.

2. Is their PR submission service free of charge?
Nowadays, there are some press release sites providing both free and paid distribution services. Usually the paid service comes with better features.

3. Do you need to register to submit your article?
Most of these PR sites will ask you to become a registered member first. You have to provide some of your information such as email to create an account on the site. Once your account has been activated, you can login to your account to submit your article. But some PR sites allow you to save the hassle and do the press release submission immediately after registration without logging into your account.

4. Do they allow you to add a HTML anchor tag in your article?
Some free press release sites allow you to add HTML anchor tags in your story, others don’t. Some sites only allow paid customers to use this feature.

5. How long will it take to get your submitted article approved on the site?
After submitting your story, you may need to wait for a couple of days before your submission gets approved. The approval time varies among PR sites. Some sites may approve your submission only in 1 or 2 days, others may take forever. The approval time is usually longer in the free service than the paid service.

Tips for using press release sites:
1. Make sure your story is newsworthy and written in the appropriate press release format.
2. Sites with high Google page rank (higher than PR4) will increase the credibility of the story.
3. Use all the available search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to make your article search engine friendly.
4. Some people think sites with “follow” links are better than those with “nofollow” links in the sense of SEO. This may be true for Google search engine, but it may not be true for other search engines. We don’t exactly know how search engines weigh “follow” and “nofollow” links in their algorithms.

Benefits of using press release sites:
1. Gain more exposure of your blog, website, online store, products or services on the web. The more people are aware of your business, the more potential customers you will have. Believe it or not, all business transactions begin with the awareness of products or services.
2. Get more back links to your website. In general more back links means better SEO. One way to make your website search engine optimized is to get back links from other people’s sites, particularly those high quality backlinks.
3. Get more traffic to your website.

If you are a person scratching your head and asking the question:
“Where can I publish a press release for free? Where can I find free press release sites?”
I hope after reading this post, you will be able to answer these questions.
